Paintballing

Part strategy, part action sport, part cowboys and Indians; paintballing is an all action, all adrenalin experience. If you’re not already a devotee, you’ll soon see why it’s a way of life for weekend warriors the world over, and the fastest growing extreme sport around. Paintballing can build friendships, bolster working relationships and even build a better team. Alright, so it’s not just about the companionship and the camaraderie, it’s about the blood and thunder; about the guts, the glory and the paint!

Above all, paintballing is a completely unique experience, perfect for his or hers birthdays, ideal for corporate team building, or even just for settling old scores! Paintballing is the ideal stag (or hen) weekend activity too. What could be better: good friends, fresh air, a barrel full of paint and a variety of tasty targets. As you’ll soon discover, best friends make the best targets!

A paintball activity day will give you a solid day of soldiering (quite literally, more bang for your buck!) You’ll need to allow several hours for your day on manoeuvres. Before you even get to the war zone, you’ll cover all the basics: health and safety, weapons care and basic orientation. You’ll be schooled in the art of paintball combat, issued with the sturdiest protective wear and prepped for combat. Step out of line and the marshals will haul your sorry butt back to reality before you’ve so much as fired a warning shot.

Sounds serious? Well, war is hell and paintballing is a pretty serious business too. When you’re deep in the midst of enemy territory, you need to know that your welfare has been taken care of. Whether you capture the flag or go out in a blaze of glory, it’s good to know that the marshals have got you in their sights (as well as the enemy.) The marshals will make sure that nobody gets hurt, that nobody oversteps the boundaries, and that fair play is seen to be done. There’s a paintballing code of ethics to adhere to after all. It’s a bit like the Geneva Convention – only more binding!

Full combat training is given to all participants, so irrespective of whether you’re a grizzled veteran or a wet behind the ears rookie, you’ll be briefed, beefed up to the nines and ready to rock. There’s no limit to the damage you can do; you’ll be given the guns, the gauntlets and the gas! (Paintball guns are all gas powered.) The CO2 canister propels the paint pellets with quite a kick. Pebble dash your opponents before they get you and you’ll live to fight another day.

Whether you’re protecting the President or facing down an army of the undead, paintballing is a sociable game. You’ll work together, building teams and forging alliances – you’ll work together for the common good and you’ll come out fighting.

Paintballing is epic entertainment on a grand scale. Activity days don’t come bigger than this. The guns, the hail of paint, the heroic self sacrifice as your rear guard take the flak. The empty clatter as their spent ammo hits the floor; the desperate onslaught against insurmountable odds… You might have to remind yourself that its still just a game. It’s easy to get carried away. Paintballing is a passionate business; the bruises will heal but the memories will endure.

Paintballing is war without too many tears. (Remember, each bruise is a badge of honour!) And it’s a whole lot more. So get into your combats, strap on your semi automatic and make ready for action. It’s war – and it’s a dirty business. Lock and Load!
